A Radial Stage Tool Designed for Modern Microphone Routing
Designed for live environments where everything must remain simple, fast, and reliable, the Relay Xo fits Radial's "field" approach: rugged enclosures, professional connections, and ergonomics focused on the real needs of musicians and technicians. In a current concert setup (separate monitors, digital console, in-ear monitors, talkback), being able to redirect a microphone to two distinct inputs becomes a real comfort... and sometimes a safety asset.
Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?
The Radial Relay Xo is primarily aimed at singers, MCs, musicians using ear monitors, and technical teams who want to maintain control over the microphone path. A typical example: sending the microphone either to the front of house or to the monitors to talk to the band or the stage manager without the audience hearing. Another common application: duplicating a microphone send to two console channels to have a "dry" channel and an "effects" channel (reverb/delay), giving the artist a simple way to change ambiance in real time.

Questions frequently asked
Can a microphone be routed separately to the front of house or monitors?
The 1-to-2 switching allows directing a balanced XLR input to one of two balanced XLR outputs. This configuration can be used to send a microphone to the front of house or a separate monitor feed.
Which footswitch pedal should be used with the Radial Relay Xo?
Remote control is designed for use with a Radial JR1-L latching pedal or JR1-M momentary pedal. Control connections accept an XLR combo format and a 6.35 mm jack.
Does the unit accept a line level signal?
The active electronics accept both microphone and line level signals, up to +26 dBu at the input.
How can multiple switching units be controlled with a single control?
The link function allows synchronizing multiple units to coordinate the switching of multiple lines. This feature is especially suitable for several microphones or sources needing to change destinations simultaneously. Gold contact relays ensure internal switching.
How robust is the Relay Xo for stage use?
The chassis is made from 1.55 mm steel and the entire unit weighs 635 g. Military-grade relays and gold contacts are designed to withstand the demands of stage use.
