Catapult Mini TX: a compact link in the Catapult ecosystem
The Catapult Mini TX fits into a "simplified multicore" approach: transporting multiple analog lines without running a heavy XLR loom. By relying on a shielded Cat.5 network cable, it allows extending mic/line connections to a Catapult Mini RX receiving module (or another Catapult module), while maintaining a familiar patching logic thanks to XLR connectors. It is a solution designed for scalable configurations where you want to save setup time, reduce cable runs, and keep a clear audio distribution.
Who is it for and what are the use cases?
The Catapult Mini TX is aimed at sound engineers, musicians, stage technicians, and integrators who need to remote analog signals (mic or line level) between the stage, a booth, a control room, a technical room, or a rack. It is ideal for connecting a subset (drum kit, backline, RF desk, monitors, side rack) to a patch area, crossing a venue without multiplying multicore cables, or securing a clean cable route in environments where space and setup time are limited.
Transmission, connectivity, and field convenience
4 analog channels over shielded network cable
The Catapult Mini TX transmits 4 analog channels via a shielded Cat.5 cable (Cat.5/6). This approach replaces a bundle of lines with a single cable, easier to deploy, tie down, and route through cable trays or along structures. You maintain a clear analog audio path, particularly useful when you want to remote preamps, analog stagebox outputs, monitor feeds, or utility signals.
Stage-oriented connectivity: EtherCon and XLR
The module features an EtherCon input to secure the network cable connection during handling and reduce the risk of accidental disconnection. On the audio side, the 4 male XLRs provide a direct interface with standard patches (stage boxes, splits, racks, consoles, devices) without complex adapters. The result: faster cabling and more intuitive identification for any team used to XLR connections.
Protected tails and immediate identification
In the field, reliability is also in the details. The 60 cm tails are protected by an expandable braided sleeve, useful to limit wear, pinching, and snagging during stage changes. The color-coded heat-shrink labels facilitate channel identification, reducing patch errors and speeding up line-checks, especially in dense setups (multiple identical links, multi-rack, rotating stages).

Questions frequently asked
Is the Radial CATAPULT-mini-tx compatible with a Cat.6 cable?
The transmission uses a shielded Cat.5 network cable, compatible with Cat.5/6. The connection is made via an EtherCon port, designed to secure the cable during handling.
How many audio channels can this unit transmit?
Four analog channels at mic or line level are transmitted over a single shielded network cable.
Which Catapult equipment can receive the signal?
The module is compatible with the Catapult Mini RX as well as other Catapult modules. The four audio outputs are provided on male XLRs for connection to patch bays, consoles, or racks. No digital processing or conversion is included in the audio path.
What is the length of the XLR tails?
Each tail measures 60 cm and features an expandable braided sleeve. Heat-shrink labels with color coding identify the four channels.
Does the CATAPULT-mini-tx accept high line levels?
The input accepts a maximum level of 35 dBu. The stated frequency response ranges from 7 Hz to 20 kHz, with a harmonic distortion of 0.0005 % at 1 kHz.
