A Multi-Channel DI Tailored for Modern Rigs (Live & Studio)
The Radial JD6 was designed to meet a very practical need: centralize, secure, and clean the connection between multiple electronic sources and a console without multiplying floor DI boxes. Its rack format and 6 channels make it an ideal solution when the stage or studio must accommodate several simultaneous outputs: stereo keyboards, expanders, players, modelers, or electronic drums with separate outputs. Radial's approach emphasizes robustness and signal consistency, with an architecture where each channel remains completely isolated to reduce ground issues in complex sound systems.
Who Benefits from the Radial JD6 and in What Applications?
The JD6 is aimed at keyboardists, electronic drummers, stage managers, and studios seeking a professional rack DI capable of handling high-level output signals while maintaining a clean and stable sound. In live settings, it secures the stage: neater wiring, quick access to settings, and reduction of unwanted noise when multiple devices are powered from different circuits. In the studio, it facilitates recording synths, digital pianos, or modules, preserving precise reproduction and minimizing hum issues during sensitive recordings. It can also be suitable for instruments like acoustic guitars and basses when a clean adaptation to a mic input is needed, especially in configurations where multiple sources are centralized in a rack.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Radial JD6 suitable for a rack of keyboards and stereo modules?
Its 6 independent channels accept keyboards, expanders, and players in particular. The 1U format centralizes connections in a 483 x 158 x 44 mm rack.
How to eliminate hum with this rack DI?
Each channel is transformer isolated and features a ground lift on the front panel. A second set of internal ground switches allows adaptation of the connection to the rack’s overall grounding scheme. This design aims to reduce ground loops between sources and the console.
Do the front inputs replace the rear connections on channels 1 and 2?
The interrupting jacks on channels 1 and 2 give priority to the front panel inputs when a source is connected there.
Can a stereo signal be summed to mono?
The Merge function combines a stereo source into a mono output. A passive low-pass filter is also available to attenuate residual noise in the low frequency range.
What input level does the 6-channel DI accept?
The input accepts up to +21 dBu, which accommodates high-level output signals from electronic sources. The input impedance is 10 kOhms and the specified frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
