What is Wurlitzer by Rhodes for?
Wurlitzer by Rhodes is a virtual instrument designed to reproduce the sound of a reed electric piano that has become legendary both in the studio and on stage. It covers a wide musical spectrum, from vintage pop and rock to soul, funk, hip-hop, film scoring, and modern electronic production. Its sonic identity lies at the crossroads of clear and bright (precise attack, presence) and gritty and biting when pushed, making it ideal for expressive chords, incisive riffs, warm ballads, or leads that cut through the mix.Designed for demanding musicians as well as producers, it emphasizes playability, dynamics, and touch response, allowing you to quickly shift from a soft, intimate sound to a more aggressive, character-rich tone without losing the 200A's DNA.

Questions frequently asked
What Wurlitzer sound does this virtual piano offer?
Inspired by the Wurlitzer 200A, this instrument covers clear and bright tones, with a precise attack. Increasing the level makes the character more biting and grainy.
Is the plugin compatible with Mac Apple Silicon and Windows 11?
Compatibility is ensured on macOS Big Sur 11 through Sonoma 14, on Intel and Apple Silicon processors in Rosetta or native mode. Windows 10 and Windows 11 are also supported. A setup with 8 GB of RAM and 1.13 GB of free disk space is required.
Which plugin formats are available?
VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats are provided with the downloadable installation file.
Can the vintage character and tuning be modified?
The Timbre Shift control allows evolving the tone toward a rounder, drier, or rougher sound. Global Tune adjusts the overall tuning according to the project or musical reference used.
Does Wurlitzer by Rhodes work in GarageBand?
A limitation reported in November 2023 may prevent it from working in GarageBand on Macs with Intel processors. This issue is related to a third-party copy protection provider. An internet connection is required.
