Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
Rohema Percussion is a family business specializing in the manufacture of sticks and percussion instruments since 1888. These claves are part of an artisanal and professional approach to percussion, with a focus on consistency from pair to pair, ideal for stage, studio, and educational use.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
These professional claves are suitable for percussionists from beginners to advanced, group musicians, as well as teachers in rhythmic workshops and musical awakening. They naturally fit Afro-Cuban and Latino styles (son, salsa), world music, jazz, and any ensemble needing a clear and stable rhythmic reference.
Features and Innovations
Simple and effective, the claves rely on precision: a well-matched pair allows for a clean attack and a homogeneous response, essential for marking the clave and securing the tempo. Their compact size facilitates dynamic work, from "sound" playing to softer playing for learning and accompaniment.
Sound
Rosewood, a dense and resonant wood, provides a highly sought-after balance: precise impact, strong presence in the mix, and controlled sustain. The sound is both warm and sharp, with good projection, helping maintain a clear pulse even in ensemble settings.
