Rupert Neve Designs Sound, Built for the Field and Audio-over-IP Networks

For over a decade, many sound engineers have adopted Rupert Neve Designs on the road for one simple reason: to regain analog musicality and professional robustness that hold up night after night. The RMP-D8 follows this philosophy by bridging the world of characterful preamps and current workflows based on networked audio.

Where some "all-in-one" Dante solutions rely mainly on a highly integrated architecture, the RMP-D8 embraces a more demanding approach: the core of the system is based on modular microphone preamp cards and the work around custom transformers, to preserve a sonic identity worthy of the brand's standalone preamps. The result: a rack unit that brings the Rupert Neve Designs "grain" into connected setups, from clubs to TV studios, and recording studios.

An 8-Channel Dante Preamp for Stage, Monitors, Broadcast, and Multitrack Recording

The Rupert Neve Designs RMP-D8 targets live engineers, system managers, and studios who want to centralize 8 mic/line inputs in a reliable rack format while benefiting from Dante's flexibility. Both on the front panel and in patching, the idea is to simplify routing: capture close to the source, send it over the network, and retrieve the signal wherever needed, without relying on heavy analog cabling.

It is especially suited for configurations where stability is critical: tours, Dante-equipped venues, corporate events, recordings, in-ear monitors, or live multitrack recording. The AES digital outputs also allow easy integration of the RMP-D8 into traditional digital environments alongside the network.

Class A Preamps, 24-bit 192 kHz Conversion, and Fine Control: A Gain Chain Designed for Precision

A Preamplification Topology Focused on Musicality, Not Just "Gain and Level"

Each channel features a Class A microphone preamp feeding a custom transformer. This design aims for a denser, more lively reproduction, with bass and transient handling that remains clear even when the mix gets busy. In practice, this results in a solid, usable, and pleasant recording, whether on vocals, drums, guitars, or acoustic sources.

Per-Channel Controls to Immediately Adapt the Sound Capture

In live situations, every second counts: the RMP-D8 includes essential functions switchable per channel to adapt to microphones, levels, and phase issues. Phantom power for condensers, high-pass filter to clean up low end, phase inversion to fix mic pairs or bleed, and pad to handle high-level sources: you have a simple and effective toolbox directly integrated into the capture chain.

Dante, AES, and Redundancy: Integration Designed for Professional Systems

The RMP-D8 communicates with any Dante device on a compatible audio network and offers a network architecture with primary and secondary links via Ethercon, convenient for securing signal routing. At the same time, the AES digital outputs facilitate interconnection with consoles, converters, or recorders that have compatible inputs. Finally, the redundant power supply with locking connectors enhances reliability on gigs where downtime is not an option.
