An SLS Elite designed as the "performance" evolution of the C-7
The C-7 SLS Elite follows the spirit of Schecter's C models, pushing towards a more "modern" approach: fast ergonomics, easy access to the upper frets thanks to the neck-through construction, and versatile electronics geared towards metal/prog. The gradient finish particularly highlights the flamed maple top, delivering a look as stage-worthy as it is elegant.
For which guitarists and styles?
This 7-string electric guitar is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a precise instrument for low tunings, fast pick playing, and modern techniques (tight riffing, palm-muting, fluid leads). It excels in modern metal, djent, prog, heavy fusion, but its range of voicings and coil split also allow for more open and articulate tones when lowering the gain.
Sound
The Fishman Fluence Modern pair (ceramic magnet at the bridge, alnico magnet at the neck) provides a very defined response, with firm lows and clear highs, ideal for complex chords and clean palm-mutes. The two voicings (modern active and passive) facilitate switching from an ultra-sharp sound to a more organic tone, while the HF filter helps recover more low-end and the 6 dB gain reduction improves dynamics in high-gain contexts. The coil split (with coil selection) further expands the tonal textures, useful for airier cleans.
On the construction side, the swamp ash body promotes a crisp attack and good clarity, and the flamed maple top adds bite and precision. The neck-through construction (maple/walnut/padauk with carbon reinforcements) enhances sustain and stability, and the ebony fingerboard contributes to a fast, very "tight" response.
Recommended compatible accessories
To maintain the original feel, you can choose a 7-string set of strings with the same gauge as the factory set: Ernie Ball (.009/.011/.016/.026/.036/.046/.062). For transport, the guitar is compatible with the Schecter SGR-1C gig bag (sold separately), advertised as the dedicated option.
