A Revisited Diamond-J: Pro Spirit, Simple Access
This new iteration of the Diamond-J focuses on the essentials: a level of finish and performance worthy of the stage, with a clear and efficient approach. The passive electronics return to basics, while the carbon fiber reinforcements and simplified access to the truss rod aim for a reliable bass, ready to withstand rehearsals, concerts, and climate changes without surprises.
For Which Bassists and Styles?
The Diamond-J is aimed at intermediate as well as experienced musicians looking for a versatile 4-string bass, comfortable in rock, pop, funk, soul, or indie styles. Its "thin C" neck and long scale favor precise playing, whether fingerstyle, pick, or slap, while maintaining a controlled feel along the entire neck.
The Sound
The alder body provides a very musical balance: present but clean lows, clear mids, and smooth highs. The maple neck + maple fingerboard combination enhances attack and definition, ideal for cutting through a mix. On the electronics side, the Schecter USA MonsterTone-J pickups in passive configuration deliver a lively tone, responsive to right-hand dynamics and nuances. The two volume controls allow fine blending of each pickup, and the Push-Pull tone (coil-tap) opens a palette ranging from a rounder, vintage register to sharper attacks, without losing the simplicity of direct wiring.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay as close as possible to the original setup, you can use Ernie Ball 4 String Super Long 2849 strings with gauges .045-.105. A gig bag is available as an option: SGR-UNIVERSAL BASS (sold separately).

What is the scale length and neck profile?
The long scale measures 863 mm (34 inches) and the neck has a slim C profile. The nut width is 38 mm, with a thickness of 20 mm at the first fret and 22 mm at the 12th fret.
How does the Push-Pull work on this bass?
