The Omen Series: the Entry into the Schecter "Performance" Universe
The Omen series is positioned as Schecter's mid-range: a line designed to offer flawless finish and a true "pro instrument" feel without breaking the budget. Within the range, it stands out by its attention to detail (careful fretting, comfortable neck) and stage-oriented equipment, notably thanks to the Floyd Rose Special and luthiery focused on power.
For Whom and Which Styles?
This Schecter Omen is aimed at motivated beginners up to intermediate players who want an easy-to-handle guitar capable of withstanding rehearsals and concerts. The 24 frets and floating vibrato make it particularly comfortable for rock, hard rock, metal, and modern styles requiring pronounced vibrato effects, while remaining usable with clean tones thanks to the 3-position selector switch.
The Sound
The combination of a mahogany body and a maple top perfectly balances warmth and attack: mahogany provides a warm foundation with density in the midrange, while maple adds definition and presence to better stand out in a mix. The two humbucking Schecter Diamond Plus pickups deliver an output level suited for modern distortion, with firm lows, solid mids, and sufficiently precise highs for riffs and solos. The simple and effective passive electronics (2 volumes, 1 tone, 3-position selector) allow quick switching between pickups and tone shaping without getting lost in complex settings.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay as close as possible to the original setup, you can choose a set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 2221 strings in gauge 010-046. If you want to protect the instrument during transport, the SGR-1C case (sold separately) is recommended as a compatible option.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Schecter Omen Extreme FR suitable for metal and hard rock?
The two Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers provide an output level suitable for modern distortion, with tight lows. The mahogany body adds midrange warmth, while the maple top enhances definition. The 24 frets and Floyd Rose Special bridge accommodate playing techniques focused on riffs and solos.
Which Floyd Rose is installed on this guitar?
The bridge is a Floyd Rose Special floating locking tremolo, paired with a Floyd Rose Special nut.
What is the neck profile and scale length?
The neck has a thin C-shaped profile, measuring 20 mm thick at the nut and 22 mm at the 12th fret. The scale length is 648 mm (25.5 inches) and the nut width is 41.3 mm. The rosewood fingerboard features a 355 mm (14 inch) radius and 24 X-Jumbo frets.
Can clean sounds be used with the Diamond Plus pickups?
The passive electronics include two volume controls, one tone control, and a 3-way selector switch. This setup allows selecting either of the two humbuckers and adjusting the tone for clean sounds.
Which gig bag or case is compatible?
The SGR-1C case is listed as compatible and sold separately. An Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 2221 string set in 010-046 gauge keeps close to the recommended tension.
