A well-equipped bass in the "Session" spirit: modern, high-performing, ready to play
The SESSION range stands out with a decidedly contemporary approach: premium electronics, comfortable playability up to the high notes thanks to 24 frets, and a design aimed at delivering a clear, powerful, and easily sculpted sound. This left-handed version follows the same philosophy with serious gear (active EMGs, 3-band EQ) to meet the demands of today's bassists.
For which bassists and styles?
This 5-string bass is especially suited for intermediate to advanced bassists seeking precise response, solid low end, and real adjustment range. The EMG pair and active EQ are suitable for modern sounds (hard rock, metal, funk, pop) as well as contexts where the bass must remain clear in the mix, notably with a well-defined low B thanks to the 35" / 889 mm scale length.
Tone
The ash body provides attack, definition, and dynamics, while the maple neck and fingerboard enhance clarity and "snap," highly appreciated in slap and pick playing. Regarding pickups, the EMG 40J in the neck position offers an articulated and precise tone, and the EMG 40DC at the bridge delivers a denser, punchier sound. With the pickup balance and 3-band EQ, you can quickly switch from a round, clean sound to a more aggressive and cutting tone, with a generous output level.
Recommended compatible accessories
To stay as close as possible to the original specifications, you can opt for a set of Ernie Ball 5 String Super Long (.045-.130) strings. An SGR-UNIVERSAL BASS case is recommended as an option (sold separately). Also, plan for a spare 9V battery, as the bass has a dedicated compartment.
