Selmer Présence II Bb (17 Keys)

A Selmer Clarinet Designed as a "Professional Entry-Level" Reference

Manufactured in France following the Henri SELMER Paris tradition, the Présence has established itself over the past decade as a credible gateway into the professional world: an instrument demanding in sound quality, yet accessible in playability. This version evolves positively with a redesigned bell (better register homogeneity), widened barrels (more resonance), and a more modern approach to durability thanks to the EVOLUTION system. The aesthetic care (barrels, Delta engraving, natural vegetable varnish) completes a coherent whole, designed to last and support progression.

For Whom and in Which Styles?

The Selmer Présence targets a wide audience: advanced students, conservatory players, advanced or professional musicians seeking a reliable and versatile Bb clarinet. Its balance makes it comfortable in classical (legato work, intonation, homogeneity), wind orchestra and brass band (projection, pitch stability), as well as in pop and "all-terrain" contexts where easy response and good stability during rapid changes in conditions (temperature, transitions) are appreciated.

Sound and Design

With its polycylindrical bore (cylindrical section at 14.6 mm) and acoustic improvements, the Présence aims for a homogeneous play across chalumeau, clarion, and altissimo registers, with a more generous projection thanks to the wide 7 mm barrels and the bell's reworked internal shape. The two barrels (64.5 and 65.5 mm) allow fine-tuning of response and intonation according to pitch and venue. The supplied Echo mouthpiece facilitates overall response, useful both for increased comfort and securing articulation in ensemble playing. Regarding finishes, the contrast between silver-plated barrels and matte black chrome provides a modern visual identity, enhanced by the engraved Delta symbol and an elegant natural vegetable varnish.
