Evolution Wireless Digital: Sennheiser's DNA, designed for modern workflows

The EW-D ME2/835-S SET belongs to the Evolution Wireless Digital family, created to bring the benefits of digital wireless in a modular and accessible format. The goal is clear: to make managing a wireless system faster and more straightforward without requiring advanced expertise. This approach notably relies on a constant interval tuning grid, intended to facilitate the use of equidistant frequencies and simplify setup in the field.

The EW-D range also adopts a philosophy derived from the brand's higher-end digital systems (notably Digital 6000 and Digital 9000): prioritizing stability, consistency, and rapid deployment. The result is a system particularly suited for contractors, sound engineers, houses of worship, multipurpose venues, and mobile users seeking a reliable solution without spending time navigating complex menus.

A handheld + lavalier microphone duo for stage, speech, and video

Featuring a handheld transmitter equipped with an MMD 835-1 capsule (dynamic, cardioid) and a bodypack transmitter paired with the ME 2 lavalier microphone (electret condenser, omnidirectional), this set covers two essential applications.

The handheld microphone is a natural choice for singing, hosting, rhythmic interventions, and any context where a direct, robust, and controlled capture is desired. The lavalier microphone targets discretion and freedom of movement: conferences, training sessions, presentations, theater, recordings, and content where voice clarity must remain constant even when the speaker moves.

Transmission, control, and scalability: a digital wireless system built for the field

UHF digital wireless: clarity and reliability

The EW-D relies on digital transmission designed to eliminate typical analog wireless artifacts (residual noise, interference, disturbances). Maintaining a UHF base, the system emphasizes range, reliability, and the ability to operate in congested environments.

Smart Assist: quick adjustments from a smartphone

Thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy, the Sennheiser Smart Assist app allows for simpler configuration and operation: startup, remote control, and access to system parameters. The idea is to reduce setup time, especially useful when running soundchecks, changing stages, or managing multiple speakers.

An architecture designed for scalability

This set is designed to grow with your system: automated configuration aims to establish reliable connections quickly, and the platform can expand to dense configurations. The 56 MHz bandwidth allows for up to 90 channels, with latency described as practically nonexistent, ensuring comfort for both spoken word and performance.

Regarding dynamic range, the system highlights a 134 dB dynamic range for the transmitters, preserving the details of the most expressive performances, whether powerful singing, projected voice, or highly nuanced speech.
