A Discreet Essential to Ensure Reliable Sound Captures

A classic in microphone setups, the foam windshield remains one of the quickest solutions to improve recording clarity as soon as the environment becomes unstable. It naturally integrates into an audio chain, whether in a home studio, podcast, or field recording.

Who It's For and Intended Uses

This foam windscreen is designed for anyone recording with a microphone in conditions sensitive to wind or air movement: spoken voice, interviews, vlogging, rehearsals, ambient recordings. It helps preserve intelligibility and reduce unwanted noise at the source, which then facilitates processing (equalization, compression) and limits the need for noise reduction.

How It Works: Foam as a Wind Filter

The foam structure acts as an acoustic barrier against turbulence: it breaks up the airflow before it reaches the capsule, thereby reducing saturation and "blasts" on explosive consonants. The result is a more stable and usable signal, with a noise reduction of about 25 dB.
