A Direct Tribute to Seymour Duncan's Custom Winding

In the late 1970s, Seymour Duncan established himself as the reference for custom pickups. The '78 Model captures the spirit of a legendary rewinding: starting from a P.A.F.-style humbucker and making it more expressive, more responsive to natural and artificial harmonics, while maintaining vintage musicality. The result: a pickup designed to recapture that typical "hot-rodded" touch of the era, with its own distinctive character.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

In the neck position, this Seymour Duncan '78 Model is tailored for rock and hard rock guitarists who want a warm yet precise tone, capable of handling gain without losing definition. It excels in fluid solos, tapping passages rich in harmonics, and crunchy rhythms that remain thick and lively. An excellent choice if you're looking for an expressive, dynamic, and very "playful" neck pickup.

Alnico 2, Calibrated Winding, and Modular Wiring

The '78 Model Neck Zebra combines Alnico 2 magnets and a winding faithful to historical specifications to deliver a rich tone, smooth attack, and very generous harmonic response. Thanks to its 4-conductor construction, you can explore wiring options like coil split to expand your sonic palette-from full, biting humbucker tones to clearer, thinner textures depending on your setup.
