The Antiquity Series: The Spirit of a Vintage Pickup, Without Compromise
With the Antiquity line, Seymour Duncan aims for realism: a pickup that sounds "vintage" and looks the part too. The Texas Hot delivers the classic 50s-style single coil tone (snappy, chiming, and dynamic), while adding just the right amount of character to meet the expectations of today's guitarists, especially in the bridge position.
Who Is It For, and What For?
The Texas Hot Custom Bridge is designed for guitarists who find the Stratocaster bridge pickup too thin or too bright. Ideal for blues, vintage rock, funk, and roots, it provides more thickness and slightly boosted mids to help it "cut through" without losing the spank and sparkle typical of a single coil.
What Makes the "Custom Bridge" Version Different?
This bridge version is wound hotter than the neck and middle versions to increase versatility and overall instrument balance. The Alnico 2 pole pieces are aged to soften the high-end attack and reduce string pull, which enhances sustain. The pickup comes with a cloth push-back style lead for a clean installation, in the spirit of vintage setups. It is also lacquered and dipped in lamp black paraffin wax, just like pickups from the era.

Questions frequently asked
Is this pickup compatible with a Stratocaster?
This model is designed for a Strat-type guitar and is placed in the bridge position. Its single-coil format suits this application.
What sound does this Texas Hot bridge pickup deliver?
The 9.80 kOhm winding adds more thickness to the bridge pickup, with slightly boosted mids. The attack retains the snap and brightness characteristic of 1950s-inspired single coils.
Why is the Texas Hot Custom Bridge more powerful?
The Custom Bridge version features a heavier winding than the neck and middle versions. This construction aims for better level balance across the instrument.
What magnets does the Seymour Duncan AN2401 use?
It uses aged Alnico II poles. These soften the high-end attack and reduce magnetic pull on the strings, which helps sustain.
What wiring and finish are provided for installation?
A Cloth Push-Back fabric cable is supplied for connection. The pickup is lacquered and dipped in lamp black paraffin wax. Its cream finish completes the vintage-inspired aesthetic.
