The Antiquity series: vintage sound, the "already lived" feel
The Seymour Duncan Antiquity I and Antiquity II pickups are designed to stay faithful to the 50s and 60s models, reproducing not only the manufacturing methods of the time but also the aging effects on the components. This Antiquity Texas Hot kit takes the experience further with cosmetic and magnetic aging to recover that organic, slightly "smoky" character typical of vintage instruments that have become priceless.
For whom and for which styles
This set is designed for guitarists who want to transform their Strat into a machine for warm vintage tones : blues, classic rock, surf, punchy funk, country, or any playing style seeking a soft attack, great pick response, and rich clean tones. Thanks to the beefier bridge pickup, you keep the Strat spirit while achieving a more present register for riffs and solos without having to excessively crank the amp volume.
A calibrated set: softness at the neck, presence at the bridge, harmony across the guitar
The Antiquity Texas Hot Neck delivers the familiar and "spicy" Strat sound, with the soft character typical of an aged pickup. The specially demagnetized Alnico II magnets round off the treble aggressiveness and promote a smoother response, ideal for singing lines and open chords.
At the bridge, the Antiquity Texas Hot Custom offers a higher output than the neck and middle positions: more brightness, more impact, and just the right amount of mids to cut through the mix where a traditional Strat pickup might sound too thin. Notes remain robust, chords gain harmonics, and the reduced string pull contributes to a more generous sustain. Each pickup is lacquered and coated with black paraffin wax, featuring an aged cover and calibrated Alnico II poles for a balance between tone and smoothness.
