A Must-Have in the Antiquity II Series, Designed for Vintage P-Bass Sound

The Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Precision Bass Pride is part of the lineage of pickups inspired by early 1960s Precision Basses, the period when the P-Bass established itself as a studio and stage reference. The goal is clear: to achieve a credible "old school" tone with the right balance of roundness, presence in the mix, and attack response.

Who Is It For and Which Styles?

This bass pickup is aimed at bassists seeking a vintage passive tone without falling into a muddy or imprecise sound. It excels for pick and fingerstyle lines, Motown grooves, classic rock, soul, blues, and R&B rhythms, where a solid low end, clear mids, and musical articulation even in dynamic playing are desired.

What Makes the Difference: Aging, Components, and "Period Correct" Winding

The Antiquity II P-Bass features aged Alnico 5 rod magnets and a custom winding designed to deliver warm growl, precise attack, and a beautiful sense of "natural compression" typical of vintage setups. The construction emphasizes faithful manufacturing details: handmade forbon bobbins, plain enamel copper wire, brass baseplate, and cloth push-back wiring. For reliable use on stage and in the studio, each pickup is lacquered and then potted in black paraffin wax to reduce unwanted noise while preserving vintage character.
