An "Alnico II Pro" Signature Designed Primarily for Musicality
The Seymour Duncan APH-2n belongs to the Alnico II Pro series, known for its smooth and organic response. This Slash version aims for a very "guitar-voice" sound: singing mids, a pleasant high-end spectrum, and a natural compression feel that highlights playing without harshness.
For Whom and Which Styles?
Designed for the neck position, this pickup is intended for guitarists seeking a round clean tone that remains precise when overdriven. Perfect for blues phrasing, warm jazz lines, vintage rock riffs, and especially solos with generous sustain. If you play at guitar volume, you'll appreciate its ability to transition from a velvety clean to an expressive crunch with great responsiveness.
Warmth, Balance, and Definition: The Core of the Tone
The voicing of the Alnico II Pro favors flexible dynamics and immediate musicality. In clean mode, the sound remains round with well-grounded bass, ideal for open chords and arpeggios. In distortion, the pickup maintains a clear attack and good precision to articulate notes while preserving a warm character that avoids harshness. The result: a "plug and play" pickup that feels comfortable on both full rhythms and smooth leads.
