A Classic Born with Billy Gibbons, Reimagined for the Tele

Developed with Billy Gibbons in the late 1970s to recapture the character of his 1959 Les Paul nicknamed "Pearly Gates," this model has become a reference for guitarists seeking more warmth and body than a traditional P.A.F., without sacrificing attack. Adapted for Telecaster by the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop, the Pearly Gates Tele Bridge delivers a thicker, denser sound with just enough bite to remain expressive both with a pick and fingerstyle.

Who Is It For, and Which Styles?

This pickup is aimed at musicians who find their Telecaster bridge pickup too "dry" or thin and want a more blues, rock, and classic rock tone with prominent mids. Excellent for punchy riffs, singing solos, and thick rhythms, it maintains great chord clarity, especially when playing with the guitar's volume control.

Controlled Power and Wiring Options

Thanks to its Alnico V magnets and measured resistance of 18.10k ohms, the Pearly Gates Tele Bridge offers a solid output level without excessive compression. The 4-conductor wiring opens the door to versatile configurations (split, series/parallel depending on your electronics), expanding the tonal palette of a Telecaster while enjoying the noise-free operation of a humbucker.
