A classic "hot Strat" in the Seymour Duncan range

The SSL-7 "Quarter Pound" has become a reference for guitarists who love the Strat tone but want more body, more punch, and a pickup that doesn't compress when pushing the amp or pedals. This staggered version retains the single coil spirit while adding a pronounced presence in the mids and a very "live" dynamic feel.

For whom and in which styles?

Designed for guitarists who want to switch from crisp cleans to thick crunch without changing guitars, this pickup excels in Blues, Classic Rock, Garage, and Heavy Rock, while remaining comfortable when tightening the low end and gaining impact in Classic Metal and Nu-Metal. The SSL-7-RWRP is particularly relevant as a middle or neck pickup depending on your wiring, to keep the Strat character while thickening the sound.

RWRP: a tangible advantage on stage and in the studio

The RWRP (Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity) configuration means the pickup is wound in reverse and magnetized in reverse compared to a standard single coil. The result: combined with another compatible single coil, you get a quieter middle position, highly appreciated under stage lighting, near power supplies, or with high gain settings. The pickup remains a true single coil, with its precision and bite, but you gain comfort in typical Strat 2 and 4 pickup configurations.
