A Seymour Duncan Classic Designed for Vibrato Guitars
The JB is a reference pickup to boost bridge tone with more attack, presence, and brightness in the highs. In the TB-4 Trembucker version, it retains the JB's personality while better aligning the pole pieces under the strings of guitars equipped with modern vibrato systems or wider spacing bridges.
Who and What For
The TB-4JB-W is recommended in the bridge position if you're looking for a humbucker that responds quickly to picking, holds up perfectly under saturation, and remains usable with softer tones by rolling down the volume. It suits guitars that lack body with a locking bridge, and guitarists who alternate between sharp rhythms and expressive leads.
Design and Tonal Character
Its Alnico V magnet and dual-coil design offer an excellent balance of impact, sustain, and definition. The Trembucker spacing improves string-to-string output consistency, and the pickup is wax potted to reduce high-gain squealing. The white (uncovered) finish fits perfectly with modern setups and clear pickguards.

Questions frequently asked
Does the Seymour Duncan TB-4JB-W fit a Floyd Rose bridge or modern tremolo?
The Trembucker / F-spaced format features wider pole piece spacing, suitable for guitars equipped with a modern tremolo or wide-spacing bridge. It is intended for the bridge position on a 6-string guitar.
What tone does this humbucker provide in the bridge position?
The Alnico V magnet and high output deliver attack, presence, and brightness in the highs. The specified EQ is 8 treble, 6 mid, and 5 bass.
Can the TB-4 JB be wired for coil split?
Its 4 conductors plus shielding allow wiring options requiring multiple conductors. The pickup connects by soldering, and a wiring diagram is included.
What is the resistance of the Seymour Duncan TB-4JB-W?
The indicative DC resistance is 17.4 kOhm, with a resonant peak specified at 5.5 kHz.
Is the pickup suited for high gain distortion?
The wax-sealed construction limits noise at high gain. The dual coil design enhances sustain and definition, while the guitar’s volume control can soften the tonal response. The uncovered white finish comes with mounting ring and screws.
