A microphone designed for modern stages and touring demands

The Shure KSM11 was developed to support the evolution of professional stages, where broadcast quality, monitor precision, and vocal sound consistency have become crucial. With a design optimized for linearity and fidelity, this model fits within a "vocal performance" approach: capturing a natural voice while maintaining solid control of off-axis sounds and mechanical noise. Its transducer architecture and shock suspension contribute to a very uniform frequency response across the entire directivity pattern.

Who is it for and what are its uses?

The KSM11 is aimed at singers, lead vocals, demanding backing vocalists, technicians, and sound engineers seeking high-end vocal reproduction in real-world conditions. It excels on stages where a present and defined voice without harshness is desired, as well as for live event recording and streaming where clarity and timbre consistency are paramount. Its ability to handle high SPL levels also makes it suitable for powerful voices while maintaining great subtlety in nuances.

Design, sound details, and live control

An electret condenser capsule designed for finesse

At the heart of the KSM11, the exclusive electret condenser capsule combines a 3/4" gold diaphragm with top-quality electronic components. The result: fast response on attacks, very clean transient reproduction, and a wide dynamic range, delivering a voice that remains stable and detailed from whispering to the most intense passages.

Consistent cardioid: a focused voice, easier mixing

Its very uniform cardioid directivity allows perfectly targeted vocal reproduction, with reduced off-axis phase distortion. In practice, this helps keep the voice "up front" in the mix, with rich lows and low-mids, linear and transparent mids, and natural highs that retain essential information (articulation, controlled breath, presence) without harshness.

Reduced unwanted noise: internal suspension and 3-stage pop filter

The KSM11 integrates an advanced isolation system via internal suspension to greatly limit handling noise. Its odor-resistant hardened steel grille, combined with the 3-stage pop filter, contributes to more consistent capture on explosive consonants and close proximity, while maintaining a homogeneous sound.

Interchangeable capsules compatibility (depending on transmitters)

For environments alternating between wired and wireless, wireless capsules (RPW192 and RPW194) are available separately and are announced as compatible with Shure handheld transmitters accepting interchangeable capsules. This allows maintaining a similar vocal signature from one setup to another, depending on touring configurations.
