A MICROFLEX Capsule Designed for Speech Environments
Continuing the legacy of capsules from the MICROFLEX series, this high-end lavalier microphone focuses on stable and controlled capture for vocal applications. Its discreet format facilitates integration on a jacket lapel, shirt, or stage outfit, while maintaining a sound signature tailored for intelligibility. The capsule + detachable preamp combination follows a flexible configuration logic, appreciated when alternating venues, speakers, and technical constraints.
Who This Lavalier Microphone Is For and Its Use Cases
This lavalier microphone is primarily aimed at speakers, trainers, hosts, corporate presenters, and technical teams seeking a reliable voice solution. It is particularly suitable for equipped rooms (auditoriums, amphitheaters, meeting rooms), video recordings, and performances where microphone discretion is essential. Thanks to its cardioid directivity, it helps better isolate speech and limit pickup of the immediate environment, an advantage when the room is lively or when the sound system is close.

Questions frequently asked
Does the Shure MX185 reduce ambient noise during conferences?
Its cardioid pattern favors the voice captured in front of the capsule and limits pickup of the immediate environment. This configuration enhances intelligibility in a lively room or near sound reinforcement.
What gain setting is available on this lavalier microphone?
The RK100PK preamp offers a switchable gain from 12 dB to 0 dB. This allows adapting the level to a powerful voice or to the sensitivity of the microphone input.
Is the MX185 preamp protected against GSM interference?
The detachable RK100PK preamp is stated to be immune to interference caused by GSM signals. Its detachable design also facilitates maintenance and equipment organization.
What accessories come with the black lavalier microphone?
Two windshields, one single clip, and one double clip are included. The windshields help manage plosives and air movement, while the clips enable attachment to different types of clothing.
What is the cable length and maximum sound pressure level?
A 1.20 m shielded cable is included. The condenser capsule withstands a maximum sound pressure level of 124.2 dB SPL and has a frequency response from 50 Hz to 17 kHz.
