A Capsule at the Heart of the Microflex Range
The R185B is not a new-generation microphone replacement: it follows Shureâs modular approach, allowing you to keep the same Microflex body while choosing the polar pattern best suited to the application. It is the black cardioid version of the R183/R184/R185 family.
What Applications Is It Suited For?
This capsule is suitable for conference, worship, speech capture, and sound reinforcement applications where a clear, more focused voice is desired than with an omnidirectional pattern, without opting for the tighter pattern of a supercardioid.
Cardioid Pattern and Quick Replacement
The R185B offers a 130-degree pickup angle at -3 dB. Shure recommends using a windscreen for sound reinforcement, and replacement is simple: just unscrew the old capsule and screw on the new one.
