A limited edition dreadnought at the pinnacle of the SDR range
The SDR-35HM stands out with a selection of premium woods and strictly limited production. Its three-piece back combines solid Madagascar rosewood with a central piece of solid Indian rosewood, a choice both aesthetic and relevant to balance harmonic richness and stability. The natural gloss finish highlights the grain and emphasizes its decidedly high-end positioning.
For which guitarists and styles?
With its dreadnought format, the SDR-35HM is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking power, projection, and a wide dynamic range. It excels in strumming (folk, pop, acoustic rock, vocal accompaniment) and remains very inspiring for fingerstyle thanks to its clarity and sustain, especially for open tunings and enriched chords.
Sound
The AAA solid Engelmann spruce top delivers a very responsive sound with silky highs and precise attack, ideal for nuanced playing with pick or fingers. The solid Madagascar rosewood back and sides enrich the guitar with harmonics, featuring deep lows, broad mids, and a bright but controlled high end. The dreadnought construction favors projection and punch in the bass, while the ebony fingerboard and bridge contribute to note definition. The bone nuts improve vibration transmission and support sustain. For amplification, the LR Baggs EAS-VTC aims for a natural sound faithful to the acoustic character of the instrument.
