This Sire is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert bassists seeking a truly versatile and comfortable 6-string over time. Its active/passive mode and multiple pickup configurations suit both precise grooves and technical lines, with excellent definition in chords and extreme registers. It is particularly comfortable in funk, jazz/fusion, gospel, R&B/neo-soul, rock, and progressive metal, where the 35" scale length provides articulation, low-end sustain, and control.

The Sound

The Marcus Pure-H Revolution humbuckers deliver a tone that is powerful, clean, and very defined-ideal for maintaining clarity on a 6-string. Thanks to the mini-switches for series / single-coil / parallel on each pickup, you can switch from a dense, focused sound (series) to more open, snappy textures (single-coil or parallel), with dynamics suited for both slap and fingerstyle playing. The Heritage-3 preamp offers very fine control: dual volume/tonality knobs, balance, 3-band EQ, and especially mid frequencies with adjustable center frequency to precisely dial in attack and presence in a mix. In passive mode, the bass retains an organic and usable foundation, while the alder + solid flamed maple combination and the Heavy Mass bridge enhance projection, clarity, and generous sustain.
