An X10 Signed by Larry Carlton: Sire's "Player" Approach

Developed with performance-oriented instruments in mind, the Larry Carlton X10 fits within a Sire range that prioritizes manufacturing precision and coherent technical choices for modern playing. With its "Sire X Shape" double cutaway body, it aims for effortless access to the upper frets while maintaining a sober and elegant aesthetic in Natural Satin.

For Whom and Which Styles?

The X10 NT.S DC RN is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want an electric guitar capable of covering various genres without switching instruments. Its pair of humbuckers and Floyd Rose vibrato make it particularly comfortable in rock, hard rock, fusion, pop, and modern blues. The C-shaped neck and ebony fingerboard offer a fast and precise feel, ideal for articulated phrasing, bends, and playing high on the neck.

Sound

The North American alder body provides a very musical balance: firm lows, present mids, and clear highs, perfect for standing out in a mix. The solid poplar top complements the whole with a balanced response and a crisp attack. On the amplification side, the Seymour Duncan SH-1n at the neck delivers a warm and open tone, excellent for enriched chords, blues, and clean sounds. The Seymour Duncan TB-4 at the bridge adds bite, a more aggressive output level, and easily triggered harmonics, ideal for saturated riffs and solos. The 5-position selector, combined with Volume and Tone controls, allows quick tonal variations, while the 24 stainless steel frets enhance attack, precision, and durability.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To fully exploit this guitar, you can pair it with a good quality 6.35 mm jack cable, a sturdy strap, and a guitar stand suitable for electrics. A set of plectrums in various thicknesses is also relevant to take advantage of the nuances of the SH-1n and TB-4.
