A top-of-the-line F10 DX, redesigned in a headless version

The concept of the headless F10 DX is simple: to take the "premium" DNA of the F10 DX and evolve it into an even more ergonomic, lightweight, and contemporary instrument. By removing the headstock, the bass gains in balance (less "neck dive"), practicality (reduced footprint), and transport comfort, while retaining demanding luthiery and electronics designed for today's bassists. Positioned at the very top of the F10 range, this headless version is aimed at those seeking a modern aesthetic, fast playing feel, and precise sonic response, without compromise on finish.

Who the headless F10 DX is made for

Thanks to its neck-thru construction, long scale length, and very comprehensive active electronics, the headless F10 DX primarily targets intermediate to advanced bassists, as well as stage and studio musicians who need a reliable and versatile instrument. It excels in styles where the bass must remain clear in the mix: fusion, modern rock, progressive, modern metal, contemporary funk, and production pop. Its headless format will also appeal to musicians who play standing for long periods, those who prefer more "centered" playing positions, and those looking for a high-performance bass with a decidedly contemporary look.

Sound: articulation, sustain, and wide range of adjustments

The combination of swamp ash and maple top provides a very balanced sonic foundation: firm and well-controlled lows, present low-mids to support the note, and a brighter attack thanks to the maple. The neck-thru construction enhances vibrational continuity between the neck and body: you get a "full" note sensation under the fingers, with natural sustain and very responsive dynamics, particularly appreciated when playing fingerstyle or with a pick.

The 5-piece maple/mahogany neck adds stability and definition while maintaining rich musicality in the midrange. The ebony fretboard without binding enhances precision: clear attacks, excellent note separation, and a "fast" sliding feel for modern playing, back-and-forth runs, and more technical passages. The 24 stainless steel frets contribute to this signature: crisp response, durable feel over time, and more stable intonation under intensive use.

On the amplification side, the Marcus Custom-H Revolution pickups offer a wide range with a modern personality: solid lows, usable mids that help "cut" through the mix, and detailed highs without harshness when properly dialed in. The Heritage-3 HD preamp with extended controls allows you to go from a dense, round sound to a more incisive and hi-fi tone. The Middle/Freq control is particularly useful for shaping character: scoop for a very clean contemporary sound, or boost the presence range for a more articulate and "speaking" tone. The Bass variation SW provides an additional option to adapt the low end depending on playing style and context (stage, studio, tuning, mix density).
