Essential Information About the F10 DX Headless Bass

  • Ultramodern headless design: remarkable balance, reduced size, and increased comfort, ideal for long sessions.

  • High-end construction: body made of swamp ash with a maple top + 5-piece neck-through maple/mahogany neck for quick response and solid sustain.

  • Premium playability: fretless ebony fingerboard, C-shaped neck profile, and 24 stainless steel frets for a smooth, precise, and durable feel.

  • Versatile electronics: Marcus Custom-H Revolution pickups (wooden covers) + Heritage-3 HD preamp for a contemporary sound palette, from fusion to modern rock.

A top-tier "headless" variant in the F10 series

The F10 DX headless bass carries the high-end DNA of the F10 DX and translates it into a more modern approach: an electric bass designed for stage and studio, with better weight distribution and a decidedly modern feel. Positioned at the top of the F10 range, it emphasizes stability, playing precision, and a sleek aesthetic, enhanced by a Natural finish that highlights the wood grains.

Who is the F10 DX headless for?

This bass is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced musicians seeking a 5-string capable of handling demanding contexts: tight timing, clear articulation, and quick adjustments. Its "headless" design will appeal to mobile bassists (rehearsals, concerts, home studios) and those who prioritize ergonomics. Style-wise, it excels in fusion, modern rock, pop, funk, and genres where low-end definition and EQ versatility make a difference.

A modern sonic signature: attack, definition, and wide EQ range

The swamp ash / maple top combination provides a balance between firm lows, clear low-mids, and a sharper attack, especially appreciated on a 5-string. The neck-thru construction promotes even sustain, a continuous feel under the left hand, and consistent response along the entire neck.

The Marcus Custom-H Revolution pickups (humbucker format) aim for a rich and contemporary reproduction: solid lows, present mids to cut through the mix, and highs that remain detailed without becoming harsh. The Heritage-3 HD preamp, paired with a comprehensive control section, allows for sounds ranging from warm and controlled to more incisive and "hi-fi." The Middle/Freq control helps precisely target the midrange area (ideal for adjusting grain, presence, and attack), while the Bass variation SW facilitates adapting the low end according to playing style (fingers, pick, slap) and amplifier type.
