Series 1: Sire's Entry-Level Range Designed to Play Right Away

With the Sire V1, the brand launches the new Series 1 focusing on the essentials: an ultra-affordable bass that doesn't sacrifice playability. The idea is clear: offer an accessible instrument for starting out, rehearsing, and recording, while retaining what defines Sire's DNA in terms of comfort, notably the "smooth" neck and rolled fretboard edges. The result: a bass that is easy to handle, with familiar ergonomics for those seeking a "high-end" feel from the very first minutes.

Who Is the Sire V1 For?

The Sire V1 primarily targets beginners and intermediate players who want a reliable, intuitive, and pleasant bass under the fingers. The passive controls (two volumes + one tone) simplify sound understanding: balance the two pickups to shift from a round foundation to a more defined attack, then adjust the tone to soften or brighten the timbre.

In terms of styles, this platform is comfortable in pop, rock, funk, indie, and variety: contexts where solid lows, good mix clarity, and quick on-stage or rehearsal adjustments are sought. The nut width of 38 mm also promotes comfortable playing, especially for small hands or those who prefer a narrower neck.

A Versatile Passive Sound, From Warm to Snappy

The combination of mahogany (body) and hard maple (neck) provides a balanced sonic foundation: mahogany brings a sense of warmth and density in the low end, while maple helps maintain definition and a clear attack. The rosewood fretboard complements the set with a softer grain, useful for achieving a musical and less aggressive sound when rolling off the tone control.

The passive electronics emphasize playing dynamics. The neck pickup volume generally sets a rounder, enveloping foundation, ideal for supporting a band. The bridge pickup volume adds precision and bite to stand out in the mix, with a sensation of more "articulated" notes. The master tone acts as a simple tool to move from a more open sound to a muffled color, perfect for softening pick attacks or taming the high end in slap playing.
