V6 by Sire: the "Jazz" Tradition Revisited Marcus Miller Style
The V6-4 LH Black is part of the V6 series, which has become a reference at Sire for its modern take on the "Jazz" spirit. Developed with Marcus Miller's exacting standards, it emphasizes consistent craftsmanship, playing comfort, and versatile electronics. This 2025 edition stands out with its sanded solid ash top finish, highlighting the wood grain and enhancing its visual identity.
A Versatile Left-Handed Bass, from Studio to Stage
Designed for intermediate to advanced left-handed bassists (and accessible to motivated beginners), the V6-4 LH Black naturally covers funk, soul, jazz, pop, and rock. The 34" / 864 mm scale length ensures familiar tension and stable intonation, while the maple neck with a C profile and rosewood fingerboard facilitate quick playability across 20 frets.
The Sound
The combination of a mahogany body and a solid ash top delivers a solid low register, full low-mids, and a well-defined attack, perfect for cutting through the mix without harshness. The two Super-J Revolution single coils provide the snap and clarity typical of a Jazz setup, with good detail on right-hand nuances.
The Marcus Heritage-3 preamp enhances versatility: the active EQ (treble/mids, bass) allows quick tone shaping, while the passive mode via push/pull offers a more direct and organic response. The Blend control facilitates mixing neck and bridge pickups, and the Modern-S bridge combined with the 4-bolt neck/body joint contributes to sustain and stability. The 38 mm / 1.50" bone nut improves attack and open string note clarity.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
Electric bass string set for 4-string long scale 34" / 864 mm, standard electric bass strap, tuner (clip-on or pedal), and universal electric bass stand.
