The Marcus Miller V8 stands as the flagship versatile bass of the Sire range, designed to retain the ergonomics and "Jazz" DNA while adding comfort and precision improvements. With its new Marcus Miller Jazz body type and the adoption of the Sire Champ neck (highly appreciated for its feel), the V8 aims for a smoother and more premium experience, notably thanks to the roasted maple on the neck and fretboard.

For Which Bassists and Styles?

The V8 is aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists who want an instrument capable of covering many situations without changing basses: rehearsals, stage, recording, and sessions. Its "J-style" temperament makes it particularly comfortable in funk (precise slap), jazz, soul, pop, rock, and gospel, with enough tonal flexibility to adapt to a dense mix or, conversely, to very nuanced playing.

The Sound

The combination of swamp ash and roasted maple delivers a quick response, good midrange clarity, and a "snap" feel much appreciated on a Jazz-style bass. The Marcus Super J Revolution pickups provide the J-grain with definition, while the Marcus Heritage-3 preamp and its mid-frequency control allow precise shaping of the mids (ideal for highlighting a line, taming harshness, or accentuating attack). The Pickup Blender facilitates mixing neck and bridge pickups, and the active/passive mini-toggle offers immediate access to more organic or, on the contrary, more sculpted and powerful sounds.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

With its 34" long scale, the V8 is compatible with 34" (864 mm) long scale bass string sets in 4-string format. For the 5-string version, also prefer a long scale set suitable for the desired gauge. A good quality 6.35 mm jack cable is also recommended to get the best out of the active mode.
