Essential Information About Soundcraft EPM Mixing Consoles
- Three format options: EPM6, EPM8, or EPM12, to adapt the number of inputs to your setup.
- GB30 microphone preamp (inherited from the LX7II and GB series) with +22 dB dynamic headroom and professional 48V phantom power.
- Musical and precise equalization: 3-band EQ with variable mid on mono channels, ideal for shaping a voice or an instrument.
- "Live" ergonomics: progressive clipping LED, inserts on each channel and on the master, 10-segment stereo VU meter, 60 mm faders, and headphone output.
An EPM Console Designed in the Soundcraft Tradition: Simplicity, Musicality, Reliability
The EPM series follows Soundcraft's approach to compact field-oriented consoles: immediate handling, solid build quality, and technical choices inherited from well-known ranges. The GB30 microphone preamp, identical to that used on the LX7II and the GB series, gives the EPM its sought-after "pro" character for rehearsals, performances, and installations, with comfortable headroom before saturation and truly usable 48V phantom power.
To enhance the coherence and precision of the audio path, the series incorporates low-tolerance surface-mount components to improve the accuracy of gain and correction circuits. The result: a compact, accessible console built with a level of quality that is noticeable in use.
Who Is the Soundcraft EPM (EPM6/EPM8/EPM12) For?
The EPM series targets users who want a simple, robust, and efficient analog console without unnecessary complexity. It is perfectly suited for mixing small concerts, bands in rehearsal, associations, places of worship, or multi-purpose rooms that require clear routing and clean sound.
Depending on the version, you choose the right balance between compactness and number of inputs: EPM6 for light setups, EPM8 for a more versatile set, and EPM12 to handle more microphones and sources (drum kit, multiple vocals, keyboards, monitors, etc.). The 2 stereo channels are especially handy for integrating players, keyboards, or effects returns.

Questions frequently asked
How many microphones can the Soundcraft EPM 6 handle?
The EPM6 version is designed for lightweight configurations and also includes 2 stereo channels for keyboards, players, or effects returns. The microphone inputs feature GB30 preamps and a 48 V phantom power supply.
Are the GB30 preamps suitable for condenser microphones?
The 48 V phantom power supplies condenser microphones and active boxes. The GB30 preamps have a headroom of +22 dB and a microphone input noise of -127 dBu, measured at maximum gain with a 150 ohm source.
Can an external compressor be connected to each channel?
Insert points are available on all channels as well as on the master, allowing the integration of an external compressor, gate, or equalizer.
What equalizer is available on the microphone channels?
Each mono channel has a 3-band equalizer with a sweepable mid from 150 Hz to 3.5 kHz at ±15 dB. The bass is fixed at 80 Hz and the treble at 12 kHz, also at ±15 dB. The stereo channels have a 2-band equalization at 80 Hz and 12 kHz.
Is it possible to create a stage monitor mix and an effects send?
The 2 auxiliary sends allow assigning one mix to a stage monitor and another to an effects processor. A 10-segment stereo master VU meter and a headphone output facilitate level monitoring.
