The Si Impact: Soundcraft's "British" Spirit Serving Digital Mixing
With the Si Impact, Soundcraft transfers its live console heritage and its famous "British" sound into a control surface designed for speed without sacrificing precision. The preamps, developed with Graham Blythe's expertise, and the "musical" approach to equalization continue the brand's tradition: a digital console designed to sound great while remaining intuitive, even when the session gets complex.
A Console Tailored for Live, Recording, and Demanding Setups
The Soundcraft Si Impact targets front-of-house and monitor engineers, sound contractors, concert halls, houses of worship, theaters, as well as studios seeking a digital mixing console capable of handling numerous inputs. With its 32 mic inputs and generous buses, it suits full bands (multi-mic drums, brass, choirs) as well as complex technical setups requiring subgroups, matrices, and simple automation via VCAs and mute groups.
Additionally, the 32x32 USB simplifies multitrack capture and stem playback: practical for recording a concert, performing virtual soundchecks, or integrating a digital audio workstation into a production workflow.
Fast Workflow: FaderGlow, Layers, and Touchscreen
FaderGlow: Understand the Console at a Glance
The FaderGlow system is one of the Si Impact's major strengths: the fader track lights up in different colors depending on the function currently controlled. The result: fewer errors in live situations, time saved when switching layers, and immediate recognition of whether you're adjusting an auxiliary send, an effect send, or a graphic EQ band. Each fader also features a multi-color LCD display showing level and channel naming, ideal for securing a mix in real conditions.
Motorized Faders and Customizable Layers
With 26 motorized faders (24 inputs + LR/Mono) and 4 fully customizable layers, the console adapts to your working method: grouping by sections (drums, backline, vocals), direct access to key monitors, or organization dedicated to a recording session. The 5" touchscreen complements editing to speed up adjustments and navigate mixing pages efficiently.
Built-in Processing: Studio Effects and Onboard Dynamics
Lexicon Effects and dbx/BSS Processing
The Si Impact offers more than just DSP power: it includes a suite of renowned processors for a "ready-to-mix" approach. You have 4 Lexicon effects (with dedicated buses) to enhance vocals and instruments, as well as dbx dynamic processors and BSS graphic equalizers on every bus. This combination allows you to build a clean and stable mix, manage feedback more confidently, and achieve professional finishing without multiplying external gear.
Comprehensive Equalization on All Channels
Each channel and bus benefits from a 4-band parametric EQ, simplifying frequency shaping both front-of-house and monitors. This consistent processing across the console helps standardize your method, especially when switching between bands, venues, and different configurations.
Connectivity: Optional Stagebox, 32x32 USB, and Remote Mixing
Remote I/O via MADI Cat.5
MADI Cat.5 connectivity allows the use of optional stage racks to place inputs/outputs close to the musicians. This is a real convenience in live settings (simplified cabling, cleaner patching) as well as in studios (rack in control room or tracking room) via a Cat.5 link. The stagebox is optional.
Simplified Multitrack Recording via USB
The 32x32 USB interface ensures recording and playback of 32 channels, a direct solution to capture a concert or work in hybrid mode with a digital audio workstation. The goal: reduce complexity and speed up setup with a single connection to a computer.
iPad Control for FOH and Monitors
Thanks to the Soundcraft Remote app on iPad, you can adjust the mix from the audience area, manage monitors from the stage, or even provide multiple iPads so musicians can adjust their own monitor mixes depending on the stage setup.
