Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range

Bass drum spikes are essential accessories in drum hardware: discreet but crucial for playing comfort. They fit within the logic of modern stabilization solutions, combining the grip of a rubber tip with the effectiveness of a metal spike when the situation demands it.

Target Audience for This Drum/Instrument

These bass drum spikes are intended for beginner as well as experienced drummers who want to secure their setup, whether in the studio, rehearsal room, or live. Particularly useful in styles where the pedal works hard (rock, metal, punk, funk), they improve the instrument's stability during strong hits and fast patterns.

Questions frequently asked

Are Sparedrum BDS13 bass drum spikes compatible with a 12 mm bass drum?

The stated diameter is 12 mm, which should be verified against the bass drum leg socket. The set includes two spikes.

Can these bass drum spikes be used on a rug or hard floor?

The metal tip is retractable, allowing adaptation to the floor contact. The rubber tip provides a softer contact solution for certain surfaces.

What is the length of the Sparedrum BDS13 spikes?

Each spike measures 16.5 cm in length.

Do these spikes prevent the bass drum from moving during play?

The metal tip offers a firmer grip when the bass drum tends to shift. This stabilization limits micro-movements during heavy hits or fast patterns. Consistency of strokes and pedal feel can thus improve.
