Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
Thin single-ply clear heads are among the essential standards of modern drumming, sought after for their versatility and immediate response. In a resonant configuration, this type of head is often favored to achieve an open, precise sound that is easy to balance between attack and sustain.
Target Audience for This Drum/Instrument
This head is aimed at beginner to advanced drummers who want a clear and dynamic sound, especially on toms and snare drums used as resonant heads. It is particularly suitable for styles that require definition and projection, such as pop, rock, funk, fusion, gospel, or studio work, while remaining neutral enough to adapt to many tunings.
Features and Innovations
Thanks to its single-ply 5 mil construction, the head offers excellent sensitivity and quick shell vibration. As a resonant head, it promotes controllable sustain and consistent response across the entire surface, helping to stabilize tuning and maintain clear articulation even at moderate volume.
Sound Characteristics
As a resonant head, a thin single-ply emphasizes a more open sound and a livelier shell feel. Transparency is often associated with a sharper attack and more direct projection, with natural sustain that highlights the tonal character of the tom or snare. The result: a clear timbre, good harmonic definition, and solid presence, particularly effective in a band context.
