Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
Single-ply transparent heads are a favored standard for their balance between attack, resonance, and playing comfort. This model fits within the "open tone" approach, designed to let the shell breathe and achieve a natural sound without excessive muffling.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
This drumhead suits beginner to advanced drummers seeking a flexible feel and high sensitivity. It is particularly suited to styles where note length and clarity are desired, such as pop, funk, modern jazz, light rock, or studio settings.
Features and Innovations
Its single-ply 7.5 mil design emphasizes responsiveness and ease of tuning. As a batter head on snare drums and toms, it provides openness and projection; as a resonant head on toms, it enhances shell breathing and sustain continuity.
Sound Characteristics
The transparent film, more "direct" than a frosted finish, accentuates stick attack and definition. The single ply encourages free vibration, delivering a bright tone, less compressed low end, and a generous sustain, ideal for singing toms and precise snare drums.
