Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
The snare wire is the key element that transforms the stick impact into that sharp and articulated "snare" character. This 13-inch, 16-strand model aims for versatile tuning, designed to replace a worn snare wire or refine your instrument's response, both in rehearsal and in the studio.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
This snare wire is intended for beginner to advanced drummers seeking a reliable response that is easy to adjust. It is particularly suited for styles where a responsive and clear snare is expected: pop, rock, funk, variety, and live situations requiring a precise sound at moderate to high volume.

The stamp is deformed, I am waiting for the return of Woodbrass (who does not respond to my messages) to have a replacement. It's really a shame!

Questions frequently asked
Is this 13-inch snare wire suitable for a 13-inch snare drum?
This model is in the 13-inch size and is intended to replace a snare wire of that size.
How many strands does the Sparedrum Timbre 13" 16 Strands snare wire have?
The snare wire has 16 steel strands. This configuration aims for a sensitive response to nuances without excessively thickening the snare's sizzle.
What sound do steel strands produce?
Steel strands produce a crisp attack and a clear snap. The stated precision also facilitates the articulation of ghost notes.
What is the purpose of the phosphor bronze plates on a snare wire?
The outer plates are made of phosphor bronze. They contribute to even tension across the width of the snare wire and ensure consistent contact with the resonant head. This results in a more stable response.
Is the mounting hardware supplied with straps or cords?
Straps and cords are supplied. It is therefore possible to adapt the mounting method to the snare drum's throw-off.
