The Sound

The combination of a poplar body and a maple neck/fretboard promotes a sharp attack, good definition, and present highs-ideal for capturing the bite and precision associated with Strat tones. The three Fender Designed Alnico single-coil pickups deliver bright clear sounds, dynamic sensitivity to playing, and especially useful intermediate positions (2 and 4) for funky rhythms and arpeggios. The 5-position selector and the volume/2-tone controls allow easy switching from a warm, singing neck tone to a sharper bridge sound, offering a very usable palette both in a band setting and in the home studio. The string-through-body fixed bridge contributes to a more "solid" feel and strong sustain.
