A sixties Jazzmaster in the spirit of Classic Vibe

The Squier Classic Vibe '60s Jazzmaster pays tribute to Fender models from the 1960s, with their offset body shape and distinctive sonic personality. Entirely designed by Fender, it belongs to a series dedicated to the codes of historic instruments: sixties-inspired headstock markings, vintage-style tuners and glossy tinted neck finishing.

This Sherwood Green version combines a bold color with a parchment pickguard and aged white control elements. Beyond its looks, it retains the essential ingredients of the Jazzmaster experience: two single-coil pickups, two-circuit electronics and a floating vibrato. It offers a way to rediscover this universe without giving up a neck with a more accessible radius than that of vintage models.

For exploring surf, indie and atmospheric textures

This right-handed electric guitar is equally suited to a motivated beginner, an intermediate player or an experienced musician looking for a complementary color. The "C" profile offers a familiar feel, while the narrow, tall frets make precise contact with the strings easier. The 25.5-inch / 648 mm scale length retains a clear sense of tension, useful for articulate rhythm playing.

The Jazzmaster naturally fits into surf, indie rock, pop and shoegaze soundscapes. Its clean tones lend themselves to arpeggios with reverb; with modulation or overdrive effects, it can create denser pads and textures. The vibrato adds expressive pitch undulations, particularly effective for bringing a sustained chord to life.

Two alnico pickups and two circuits for varying colors

The two Fender Designed single-coil pickups with alnico magnets form the heart of its sonic signature. The bridge pickup favors a firm attack and pronounced presence, while the neck pickup delivers a fuller, softer response. Together, they provide a third color, suited to chords and accompaniment parts that require both detail and breadth.

In Lead circuit mode, the selector offers the neck pickup, both pickups together or the bridge pickup. A master volume and master tone control allow you to adjust the level and brightness. When the slide switch is raised, the Rhythm circuit activates the neck pickup only, with two dedicated wheels for volume and tone. Its specific voicing lets you prepare a more subdued color, then quickly return to the Lead circuit settings.

The poplar body and bolt-on maple neck form the foundation of this construction, complemented by an Indian laurel key. The result also depends on the instrument setup, string gauge and amplification: the pickups and two circuits remain the main tools for shaping the sound. The six-barrel-saddle floating bridge works with the vibrato system and contributes to a smooth response, suited to nuanced playing rather than extreme effects.

Recommended compatible accessories

To maintain the original string tension, choose a nickel-plated steel electric guitar string set ranging from 0.009 to 0.042 inches / 0.23 to 1.07 mm. A clip-on tuner is also a practical addition, particularly for checking the tuning after changing strings or using the vibrato.
