Part of the Affinity series, the Squier Affinity Stratocaster Junior HSS condenses the DNA of the legendary Strat into a smaller format. Its lightweight construction makes it an excellent first true "Strat" to discover the Fender sound, while remaining a reliable platform for long-term progress.

Who Is It For and What Styles?

Designed for beginners and intermediates, it is especially suitable for young guitarists or smaller hands. Its HSS setup covers pop, rock, blues, funk, and more saturated genres thanks to the bridge humbucker, without sacrificing the typical clear tones of the middle positions.

Sound

The ceramic double-coil bridge pickup provides output level, pronounced mids, and tight grain for distortion. The ceramic single coils at neck and middle deliver the brightness and characteristic "quack" of a Strat, especially via the 5-position selector. The poplar body offers a clear tonal balance, while the short scale softens the highs and facilitates bends. The 2-point tremolo ensures smoother action and more reliable tuning return, complemented by simple and effective wiring (Master Volume, Master Tone) to get straight to the sound.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

Electric guitar string set 9-42 (nickel-plated steel) to preserve the original feel, standard strap with classic strap buttons, Stratocaster-style electric guitar gig bag or case, clip-on tuner. A curved capo suited to 9.5" radius fingerboards is also recommended.
