A solid-wood viola designed to support lasting musical development
This fully solid-wood viola brings together the qualities sought in an acoustic instrument intended to grow with its player. Its construction combines a spruce top with a carved maple back and ribs, two tonewoods traditionally used in violin making for their resonance, projection and stability.
Its golden-brown varnish elegantly highlights the natural figuring of the maple and gives the instrument a warm, classic and refined appearance. The inlaid purfling provides careful finishing while also helping protect the edges of the top and back. The result is a traditionally styled viola, equipped to meet the demands of learning as well as regular rehearsals.
An acoustic viola for advanced students and developing musicians
Thanks to its fully solid-wood construction and complete equipment, this viola is particularly well suited to students who have moved beyond the earliest stages of learning, as well as amateur musicians looking for a more expressive instrument. It allows players to work precisely on bowing, dynamics, intonation and position shifts.
Its versatility makes it suitable for classical repertoire, chamber music, string ensembles and orchestras. It can also appeal to musicians exploring more contemporary styles, provided they are looking for the warmth and richness characteristic of a traditional acoustic viola. The four-fine-tuner tailpiece makes fine adjustments easier, a valuable advantage during daily practice sessions.
The sound
The spruce soundboard plays a central role in the viola's response: it promotes vibration, precise attack and clarity in the upper register. The carved maple back and ribs contribute to projection, midrange density and the depth expected in the viola's low register.
This combination of solid woods allows the instrument to develop a lively tone that naturally opens up with playing. The maple neck provides efficient vibration transmission, while the ebony key offers a firm, comfortable surface under the fingers, well suited to precise left-hand work. European-brand strings complete the setup with a balanced response and good tuning stability.
Recommended compatible accessories
To complement this viola, rosin intended for viola bows is a relevant choice for adapting the bow grip to playing conditions. A soft microfiber cloth is also recommended for regularly removing rosin deposits from the strings and varnish. The supplied rectangular case already features a dedicated rosin compartment, a pocket for the shoulder rest and a practical strap for backpack-style carrying.
