A "Kokiri Forest" finish that asserts the Signature identity, blending style and efficiency

With the Signature Richardson "Kokiri Forest," Sterling by Music Man offers a decidedly modern take on the Super-Strat spirit: an instrument designed to withstand intense playing, quick tone changes, and easy-to-understand controls. The combination of a alder body, poplar burl top, and glossy finish delivers a strong visual presence, complemented by black hardware that emphasizes the modern look. Within the lineup, it positions itself as a performance-oriented guitar: fast feel, effective electronics, and details designed for reliability in real-world conditions.

Who is it for, and what styles?

This 6-string electric guitar is mainly aimed at intermediate to advanced players seeking a responsive guitar comfortable with technical playing and demanding pieces. Its long scale length and very flat 15.75-inch / 400 mm radius favor clean bends, legato, fast arpeggios, and relatively low action. It excels in modern rock, metal, fusion, but remains relevant whenever switching from tight rhythm parts to broader leads without losing clarity. The Modern Tremolo allows adding vibratos, controlled dives, and expressive effects while maintaining good control.

Sound

The alder body provides a balanced and effective foundation: firm lows, present mids, and clear highs, helping the guitar stay audible in a band and mix. The poplar burl top mainly enhances the aesthetic identity, while the tonal personality is built around the JR Pickups: at the bridge, you get a sharp attack and dynamic response ideal for precise riffs and palm mutes; at the neck, the texture becomes rounder and more singing, perfect for solos, legato, and expressive lines. The Push/Push controls are a real asset on stage: the coil-tap opens up thinner, snappier tones to vary colors without changing guitars, and the Volume Boost adds presence for lead passages while keeping simple and direct passive electronics.
