Nest is designed to build "composition machines" capable of generating lively patterns, polyrhythms, and harmony progressions driven by rules. It targets electronic producers, sound designers, and composers who want to create evolving sequences, control software or hardware synths, and explore algorithmic writing without coding.
Main Features
Modular patching, logic, and musicality
Assemble your modules like building blocks to transform numbers into rhythms and rhythms into melodies. Conditional logic (if/else) and mathematical operators allow you to sculpt your data flows, while shift registers and multiplexers bring unique "circuit" behavior to your sequences.
Two pages, one workflow
On the "Wire" page, you cable the patch and define distribution over 8 voice slots. On the "Sound" page, you assign these voices to 4 channels that can be an internal synth, a hosted plug-in, or a MIDI output, stacking chords, drum grooves, bass lines, and textures.
Voice management and performance
An intelligent allocation system distributes voices to VSTs, internal instruments, or MIDI channels. The 12 scenes provide instant variations, ideal for structuring a track and live playing. A polished reverb and multiple audio outputs allow precise placement in the mix.
Scale, control, and automation
The flexible scale system ensures the tuning accuracy of your melodies, while MIDI CCs and automation enable expressive performances and full control from your DAW or controllers.
