What Obscurium Is For
Obscurium is designed for experimental composition, ambient, techno, film music, commercials, or game music. It generates organic harmonic and rhythmic sequences from your MIDI inputs or chords, controls your external synths via MIDI Out, and offers an ideal playground to create futuristic soundscapes.

Generative Sequencer and Step Modulation
Each step can reshape multiple parameters at once. The "Modifiers" paint movements, while the "Super Obscure Mode" automatically draws unexpected patterns to surprise your inspiration.
Built-in Synthesis Engines
An analog oscillator with unison and an FM oscillator with flexible ratio cover sawtooth, square, Supersaw, and FM. Both sources mix, route to effects, and modulate from the sequencer for constantly evolving timbres.
VST2 Plug-in Hosting
Obscurium can load your VST2 generators, send notes, pitch, and 11 automation tracks, and offer random or Learn assignment. Choose a plug-in preset, let Obscurium animate its parameters, and discover new sounds.
Morphing and "Parameter Shifting"
Spin parameters and their modulation curves, then morph between two sequence states to make your patterns breathe. The result: organic transitions, subtle breaks, and infinite live mutations.
Creative Clock
The Clock tab controls tempo, swing, and direction, with two dedicated mini-sequencers. Assign steps to MIDI notes, vary speed and playback direction for colorful polyrhythms, rolls, and triplets.

The MIDI output allows controlling external synthesizers. Sequences generated from MIDI inputs or chords can transmit notes and rhythmic movements.
Can Obscurium load VST2 instruments?
The VST2 hosting allows loading a compatible generator, then sending notes, pitch, and 11 automation tracks. Parameter assignment is done via Learn or randomly. A preset of the loaded plug-in can be selected before its animation by the sequencer.
