The Essentials to Know About the Takamine EF450C-TT-BB NEX Guitar

  • Solid "Thermal Top" Spruce Top: a more "open" response and enhanced stability against climate variations.

  • Auditorium Body with Cutaway: playing comfort and easy access to the high frets, ideal for stage and studio.

  • Takamine TLD-2 Electronics: precise amplified sound, designed for both recording and live performance.

  • Flamed Maple Back and Sides: clear projection, defined attack, and premium aesthetics.

Thermal Top: A Modern Evolution in the Spirit of Takamine Pro Series

This EF450C-TT-BB fits into Takamine's "working instrument" approach: an electro-acoustic guitar designed to meet the demands of regular musicians. The Thermal Top treatment (controlled drying then rehydration of the top) aims to replicate more quickly some benefits of natural wood aging, while improving the instrument's consistency from season to season. The result: a more predictable, stable guitar that is immediately inspiring from the moment you pick it up.

Who Is It For, and For Which Styles?

Thanks to its Auditorium format and cutaway, this Takamine is well suited for intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking an effective electro-acoustic folk guitar for rehearsals, stage, and home studio. It excels in pop, acoustic rock, fingerstyle, folk, and vocal accompaniment. Its balance also makes it relevant for more dynamic pick playing, with chords remaining clear.

The Sound

The solid spruce top delivers a crisp attack, a great dynamic range, and excellent definition, particularly useful when alternating between arpeggios and strumming. The Thermal Top treatment promotes a "played-in" feel: more responsiveness and a more even response, especially at low volume.

The flamed maple back and sides enhance precision and clarity in the mid-high register, with tighter basses than softer tonewoods. The Auditorium format balances projection and comfort, while the ebony fingerboard contributes to attack clarity and control, note by note. When plugged in, the combination of the TLD-2 preamp and Takamine's design is intended to preserve this defined and mix-friendly character without sacrificing musicality.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

This guitar uses steel strings, so you can opt for a set of steel acoustic folk strings (standard format) to maintain the brightness and projection typical of this model. A case is included, so you are ready for daily transport and protection.
