Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
Successfully relaunched in 2006, the Imperialstar series has established itself as TAMA's "plug and play" entry point for drummers seeking a complete acoustic drum kit without complications. It embodies the brand's manufacturing spirit: reliable assembly, stable hardware, and technical choices designed for durability. Within the lineup, the Imperialstar is positioned as an accessible solution inspired by proven standards from higher-end series (robustness philosophy and assembly consistency), while remaining simple to handle daily.
Who This Drum Kit Is For
This TAMA Imperialstar in the 22-inch configuration clearly targets ambitious beginners and intermediate drummers looking for a complete, coherent, and easy-to-tune drum kit. The 22-inch format offers a familiar feel and solid foundation, ideal for learning sound basics (tuning, dynamics, placement) and progressing to more demanding contexts. It naturally adapts to current styles such as pop, rock, funk, R&B, or variety: round enough to groove, present enough to support a band in rehearsal and on stage.
