Designed for guitarists, singer-songwriters, and home studio users, the SERIES 102i allows quick recording of vocals and an instrument, capturing guitar or bass live, or producing a full demo with clean monitoring. Its USB Audio Compliance 2.0 compatibility also makes it suitable for iOS to record on the go, control an audio app, or work on takes without bringing a computer.

Thanks to its two independent headphone outputs and balanced line outputs, it is equally suitable for solo recording or sessions with two people (performer + engineer, voice/guitar duo, or co-writing), with separate monitoring and simple level control.

High-Resolution Conversion and Versatile Inputs

The SERIES 102i provides capture up to 192 kHz / 24-bit to preserve the detail and dynamics of your sources. Its two Combo inputs accept mic, line, or instrument signals: convenient for chaining a vocal take, a synth, then a guitar without reconfiguring the entire studio. The Tascam Ultra-HDDA preamps aim for a natural sound with excellent signal-to-noise ratio, and the 48 V phantom power can be activated independently per channel to suit each microphone.

Built-in DSP Mixer: Comfortable Monitoring and Controlled Latency

The integrated DSP mixer allows applying digital reverb, compression, polarity inversion, and 4-band equalization on each channel. By embedding processing in the interface, you reduce latency issues linked to native effects while relieving the computer's processor during recording. The result: smoother monitoring and more stable sessions, even when projects become complex.

Front Panel Ergonomics and Frictionless Overdubs

The interface is designed to remain accessible on a desk: compact chassis, angled front panel that facilitates reading controls, and a large Monitor knob for instant listening level adjustment. The Monitor Balance control allows quickly mixing direct signal (inputs) and computer playback, an essential feature for comfortable overdubs and precise setup.

Extended Connectivity: ADAT/S-MUX and MIDI to Integrate Your Setup

To go beyond the two analog inputs, the optical input accepts up to 8 channels from an ADAT or S-MUX compatible device (with a maximum of 10 inputs total, and four at 192 kHz). On the control side, the MIDI input/output facilitates using master keyboards, drum machines, or expanders with your recording software.

Included Software: Production, Guitar, and Finalizing

The SERIES 102i comes with a ready-to-work software ecosystem: a Tascam control software to manage faders, processing, and routing of inputs (analog, optical, and USB) to any output, as well as Steinberg Cubase LE (macOS/Windows) and Cubasis LE (iPad) to start production. For guitarists and finishing, you also get AmpliTube (modeling/effects) and T-RackS (mastering) in standalone and plug-in versions, covering recording, mixing, and finalizing with greater flexibility.
