A Masterpiece of the K Series: The Elegance of Koa at the Pinnacle of Taylor Craftsmanship

The Taylor K24ce belongs to the K series, dedicated to Hawaiian koa, a rare wood that grows only in Hawaii and captivates both with its spectacular figuring and its sonic identity. On this model, Taylor emphasizes a decidedly high-end approach: choice of solid koa, luxurious aesthetics ("Shaded Edgeburst" finish, refined inlays), and top-tier components. It is designed as both a stage and studio instrument, but also as a "lifetime" guitar: the more you play it, the more its response opens up and enriches.

Who Is the Taylor K24ce For?

Thanks to its Grand Auditorium size and natural balance, the K24ce is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking an expressive acoustic capable of supporting both precise fingerstyle playing and energetic strumming. It excels in pop, folk, singer-songwriter, modern acoustic genres, and solo arrangements. Its ES2 electronics also make it a reliable partner for concerts, rehearsals, and direct recordings, delivering a sound that preserves playing dynamics.

Sound: Solid Koa, Between Brightness, Singing Mids, and Progressive Warmth

The choice of an entirely solid Hawaiian koa construction gives the K24ce an immediately recognizable personality: a clear attack, strong presence in the midrange, and natural brilliance in the treble. When new, koa can resemble the precision of maple, with a focused and detailed response. Then, as the top and body break in, the range broadens: more roundness, a fuller low end, and harmonic complexity that makes chords more expansive and melodic lines more singing.

The V-Class bracing plays a key role here: it aims to reconcile two often opposing goals in an acoustic guitar, namely projection and sustain. The result: notes that ring longer, a more consistent response across the spectrum, and more coherent intonation, especially appreciated on open chords as well as higher positions. Finally, the Expression System 2 (ES2), with its sensors placed behind the bridge and its preamp, is designed to deliver a dynamic and usable amplified sound, with equalization controls directly at hand.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To preserve an all-solid guitar like the K24ce and stay perfectly in tune daily, a acoustic guitar humidifier, a tuner (clip-on or pedal), and a selection of picks are simple and perfectly suited choices for this instrument.
