A modern noise gate, designed to get straight to the point

The noise gate is an essential tool as soon as the signal becomes demanding: high gain levels, long pedal chains, tricky stage lighting, or environments full of interference. The Iron Curtain Noise Gate follows this "plug and play" logic: a fully analog design focused on component quality and a no-compromise approach against unwanted noise, to preserve what really matters: your attack, your useful sustain, and the musicality of your tone.

Designed and manufactured in Denmark, it targets guitarists who want an effective solution without menus or complex settings, while maintaining maximum signal integrity.

Who it's for, and in which styles the Iron Curtain becomes indispensable

This pedal is suitable both for the beginner musician discovering the limits of a noisy setup and the experienced guitarist seeking clean gating between riffs, tighter rhythm, or total silence when stopped. It is particularly relevant if you play with modern distortions, high-gain, fuzz pedals sensitive to interference, or if you stack overdrive and boost pedals.

Regarding styles, the Iron Curtain feels at home wherever precision matters: rock, metal, punk, but also funk (for ultra-clean stops) or studio (to avoid manually cleaning noisy silences). On a pedalboard, it can serve to "lock" silence during breaks or to tame an overly chatty effects chain without altering your core tone.

Controls and features: simple, yet truly usable

The 2-knob interface is designed to get straight to the point. The threshold control determines at what level the pedal starts closing the gate: you adapt the gating to your guitar (single-coils or humbuckers), gain level, and playing volume. The decay control affects how the gate closes: shorter for a very tight "chopped" feel, longer to preserve natural sustain on held notes or chords.

A toggle switch lets you choose between two philosophies: a full mute for radical silence, or a progressive noise reduction, ideal if you want to keep a more organic feel and avoid an abrupt cutoff.

Finally, the True Bypass ensures that once deactivated, the pedal does not color your tone. All housed in a robust metal chassis, designed to withstand transport and rehearsals without flinching.

Sound

A good noise gate should not be "heard": it should primarily clean without breaking the dynamics. The Iron Curtain aims for effective reduction of hiss and interference while remaining responsive to your attack. Properly set, it lets your guitar and amp character pass through, then closes the gate coherently to eliminate background noise when you stop playing.

In mute mode, you get very sharp stops, perfect for tight rhythms and silences between palm mutes. In noise reduction mode, the feel is more "natural": useful if you play more nuanced, with note endings that need to breathe while staying clean. The result: a cleaner signal, silent pauses, and playing that immediately feels more controlled.
